Gateway Friendship Fundamentals
Gateway’s Friendship Fundamentals program is more than a program for children with special needs. It’s an avenue to develop new friendships and strengthen interpersonal skills in a supportive setting. We offer multiple sessions throughout the year, where we make it motivating to practice social and communication skills using activities like arts and crafts, cooking, sports, and community outings.
A program you can trust
Gateway staff are established experts in behavioral therapy for children with autism, and their expertise has been poured into every aspect of Friendship Fundamentals. All staff are Registered Behavior Technicians, trained in the science of breaking down skills into small components and reinforcing new skill acquisition every step of the way.
Parents and other caregivers receive daily communication updates about their child’s day, including access to photos, activity logs, and skills practiced. We also provide suggestions for how you can incorporate themes into home activities.
Siblings and special helpers welcome
We welcome siblings and offers a unique opportunity for compassionate kids to connect with others who share similar life experiences.
We also welcome special helpers or caregivers who are intimately involved in a child’s daily living.
Participants bring lunch from home. Healthy snacks will be provided.
