BCBA Meet-up in San Jose
The Peninsula/South Bay team is hosting a BCBA meet-up this month to discuss the topic of “Evaluating caregiver training”!
Please join us from 6-6:30 pm for socializing with refreshments provided by Gateway. The topic discussion will take place from 6:30-7:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to connect with local BCBAs.
East Bay Parents’ Night Off!
Gateway Families: On Friday, February 22nd from 6-8:30pm, our Hayward clinic will host a fun-filled evening for your child so that you can take some time to do what is most important for you!
Feel free to drop your child off and enjoy a few hours of self care, a special date night, running errands or getting that long awaited massage!
Children will get to play games and enjoy activities with our trained Behavior Technicians. Snacks will be provided, so please indicate if there are any dietary restrictions or allergies in your RSVP.

What’s The Function? Strategies to Manage Your Child’s Behavior
In this presentation, you will learn how to identify and define unwanted behaviors, analyze and determine the function of behaviors through ABC data collection, develop appropriate replacement behaviors and discuss proactive/prevention strategies. All behaviors serve a function. Understanding what the function and what the child is communicating through the behavior will help to better manage it.
