We all want the best for our children. And, although your child’s diagnosis presents certain challenges, there are resources for help, support, and effective therapy available to you.
At Gateway, we help your child develop and strengthen their learning, language, behavior and social skills with proven-effective therapy treatment to support not only them, but your whole family as well.
First, some background on ABA.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from the field of Behavioral Sciences, is an evidence-based treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders.
At Gateway, we approach the main Autism Spectrum areas of language, social skills and behavior using ABA therapy.
After an in-depth assessment of your child, we design an individualized therapy program that addresses specific areas of need and incorporates your child’s interests and talents.
We also work with your child to improve their success in a classroom environment by developing listening, speaking and group learning and interaction skills. Classroom shadow support services are available to children who benefit from additional support to improve their skills, behavior management, and interactions with peers.
Whether at home, at school, or in the community, our clients are presented with a series of lessons that are motivating and just plain fun.
The difference is our staff
They’re not merely capable, they’re highly-educated, expertly trained and represent some of the most talented and sought-after professionals in the field. Many are Board Certified Behavior Analysts—the foremost credential for treating Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Everyone on our staff works to establish and maintain a close, productive and rewarding relationship with your child and your family.
Our Direct Therapy Programs
These programs are organized on behalf of you and your child in collaboration with their school district, regional center and health insurance provider.
Direct Therapy involves intensive short-term programs that focus on developing a specific skill, such as initiating peer interactions as well as longer-term programs that address multiple areas.
Our Direct Therapy Programs typically involve:
- Initial assessment of a child’s needs
- Implementation of intensive therapy based on the principles of ABA
- Transitional support of skills to new environments
- Parent training
- Monthly team meetings
- Daily data collection and analysis
- Quarterly progress reports
For those students who benefit from extra assistance in their classroom setting, we also provide behaviorally-trained shadow aides and consult with teachers. Currently, our Direct Therapy Programs and services are available to families in the San Francisco and San Diego Bay Areas.
Getting your family involved.
For your student’s therapy program to achieve the best results possible, we need to have your family involved. How? For starters, we encourage you to participate in their therapy sessions as much as possible. We also look to you for observations, insights and input. And, we help support and guide you in applying your child’s plan at home, as well as public places and social settings.
All working together toward success.
We collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, school staff and other health professionals to fully understand each child’s skills and challenges and to unite in meeting your family’s goals.
Gateway Learning Group is proud to be an in-network provider for most major health insurance plans.
